This Tannoy 2-way floorstanding loudspeaker brings around a century of British acoustic heritage into a handcrafted oiled walnut cabinet that belongs as much in the listening room as in any serious hi-fi reference system. Built around the legendary Dual Concentric driver and finished by hand, it delivers the coherence, scale and tonal honesty Tannoy has been refining since 1926.
Dual Concentric coherenceAt the heart of the speaker is a 10-inch Dual Concentric driver, with the high-frequency compression unit mounted on the same acoustic axis as the bass cone. The 25mm aluminium-magnesium dome, loaded by a Tulip Waveguide, produces a symmetrical dispersion and true point-source imaging that conventional multi-driver designs simply cannot match. At 91 dB/W sensitivity and 340 W peak power handling, dynamics are effortless and transients are breathtaking.
Cabinet as instrumentThe high-density particle board cabinet is extensively braced using DMT (Differential Materials Technology) to couple the drivers rigidly to the enclosure, while the Distributed Port system delivers powerful, extended low-frequency response. Audiophile-grade capacitors, low-loss laminated-core inductors and close-tolerance wirewound resistors deliver a more natural, cohesive sound throughout the audible spectrum.
Craftsmanship you can see and hearEach cabinet is handcrafted in oiled walnut veneer with walnut inlays, custom gold-plated bi-wireable binding posts and a fifth grounding post that reduces RFI and improves midrange clarity. Precision-machined gold anodised aluminium trim and a tin of specially formulated Prestige wood wax complete a loudspeaker designed to be lived with for decades.
